How do I add appointments or events to my schedule?

To add an appointment or event to your schedule, start by going to the "Calendar" tab. From here, either click on the "New Entry", or click-and-drag across the time slots you wish to book, then choose between creating an appointment or an event in the dialog that appears.

How do I block time slots during which clients can't book online?

You can block off time by booking events and marking your time as busy. In the "Calendar" tab, create a new event and check the "Mark time as busy" checkbox.

You can use this to block off time during lunch breaks and other times you are unavailable. You can also block off entire days this way, which may be a useful if you have a schedule that changes from week to week.

How do I block off holidays and closed dates on my schedule?

Go to the "Biz Hours" section of the "Settings" tab. Here, you can change the business hours and closed dates for your entire business, as well as for each of your staff.

When does OpenCal send out email notifications?

Appointment notifications are automatically sent to you and the clients in the following situations:

You Client
When a client books, cancels, or reschedules an appointment online.
When you book, cancel (delete), or change a client appointment *
When a client requests an appointment online.
When you approve a client's appointment request.
When you deny a client's appointment request.
As a reminder, 24 hours before appointments take place.
You book, change or cancel an event.
*Only if you've entered the client's email address in the appointment details.

If you have also checked the option to gather customer feedback in "Appointment Settings", then feedback request email will be sent to clients 24 hours after their appointments.

How can I manually filter online appointments before they are added to my schedule?

Go to the "Appointment Settings" section of the "Settings" tab, and select the option to "Manually approve appointments before they are added to your calendar"

Once selected, your client's appointment requests will appear in a new "Appointment Request" area in the "Overview" tab. From here, you can accept appointments into your schedule, or deny them (with the option to send a message to the client).
