Our Story
It all started with two guys and a vision to build the best online appointment system out there.
Simon Vallee and Arash Shiva, with backgrounds in user experience and interface design, joined forces, put their tables next to each other, and got to work. Sketches turned into photoshop designs, designs turned into code, and after hundreds of rounds of refinements, many late nights, and with the help of some talented people, they created what you see as OpenCal today.
As we grow, we promise to constantly improve OpenCal and add new features to help our clients do business better. We hope you enjoy using OpenCal as much as we enjoy building it.

Our servers are housed in a secure, state-of-the-art datacenter located in the center of the U.S. for fast access times. We know you depend on us for your important business functions, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Arash Shiva - Co-founder, Product Designer
With a natural passion for entrepreneurship and design, over the last ten years Arash has founded several successful companies. He's also an avid photographer and holds a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Washington.
Simon Vallee - Co-founder, Product Designer
Simon's keen sense of product design and love of technology led him to start OpenCal. Prior to that he worked at Electronic Arts and was a founding member of Sitemasher (acquired by Salesforce). He holds an Engineering degree from Polytechnique of Montreal.
